Thundersnow

It sounds like a bad spinoff of an eighties cartoon, doesn’t it. Thundersnow along with its sidekick thundersleet have hit tonight. In spades. Snow and thunder and lightning. The weather around here has definitely blown lately. It even kept me from a chat. Nearly apocalyptic I tell you. And that’s not all…

We’re supposed to get a foot of snow by morning. That would be 12 inches for the math-impaired. Up to two inches per hour. Actually some sources say 20 inches. When the news say “prepare now because the end of the world is nigh…” Wait! Wrong story. When the news says “prepare now because travel tomorrow will be limited”, you know we’re in for it. They’re calling it a significant event.

Have I mentioned the flooding? Okay, I won’t.

I’m really glad I work from home, and I’ve been working my fingers to the bone. Really, I think the padding in the tips of my fingers has shifted like the stuffing of cheap couch cushions. It may possibly have travelled to my butt which hasn’t left the chair except to get and get rid of coffee. Several pots a day. Well, that’s not completely true. I cleaned. My house is still clean. And this weekend, I was in baking mode…three batches of cinnamon rolls and a loaf of bread later, I stopped and retired the flour to the cabinet. Those goddess points must be restocked from time to time and cookies weren’t on the slate. Neither was laundry. I think the hubby might officially be out of underwear. Sorry honey…deadlines. Have you seen the weather…?

So hey! I’m part of two great contests…One is through Total-e-bound. Check out my last post to read more about that. The other is the Eternally Yours contest. Here’s the scoop:

  1. Living in South Florida, snow and snowstorms don’t seem real anymore. I’m really not trying to be funny, but I’ve not seen snow in more than twenty years, except for about 1″ (maybe less) in Ohio 3 years ago, and when manufactured snow was carted into a church fair about ten years ago for the kids to play in.On another note, like Bronwyn said, watch out for that butt-sucking couch and computer desk chairs. They’re real killers.

  2. That’s it! I am packing up to move there and live with you. Can I have the other end of the sofa? We have had two snows this year. Two. And they were gone from the ground in a day or two.Outside my door, as we speak, it is about 65 degrees instead of the 35 it should be. Blech. Where is my snow!!??Interesting, though, your thundersnow sounds like the weather in my WIP. Ooh. I love typing WIP even if it is missing the H…whip…((Insert cool sound of whip being cracked here))xoxoSommerwho could spend an eternity bitching about her lack of snow…

  4. Well according to dictionary.com (yes I had to go look it up cause I was suddenly doubting my spelling skills, lol) that’s the sound a horse makes. Perhaps when one is drawing nigh 😉
